Fingertip Pulse Oximeter (Easy@Home):

How do you open the battery compartment?

We have a video that demonstrates how to remove the battery case and also put it back on:

Easy@Home Pulse Oximeter from Li Zou on Vimeo.

There is an arrow pointing in the direction you need to slide the lid off in.

Can the display change directions for better reading?

Yes, this oximeter can move the display in four directions so that it can be viewed easier by other people.

Does this come with batteries?

Yes, there are two AAA batteries included with the purchase.

Does this also measure blood pressure?

No, this device only monitors the oxygen level in your blood and your heart rate.

Does this have an automatic power-off feature?

Yes this fingertip pulse oximeter powers off after 5 seconds without use.

Will this work for children?

Yes this fingertip pulse oximeter does work for children.

Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer:

Where is the best location to measure the temperature with?

We recommend that you position the thermometer 1.2 to 2 inches directly from the center of the forehead. However other spots can be chosen as long as they are not covered by hair or anything else and you can consistently measure from there.

Can it be recalibrated?

Yes, this thermometer can be recalibrated. Recalibration only needs to be done if you choose to use another place to measure body temperature with. Compare the reading of the infrared thermometer with a conventional thermometer if you are taking temperature from different locations. If there is a significant difference, then you need to recalibrate. In order to recalibrate, Press the “MODE” and “°C/°F” buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. The screen will display “F4”. To increase 0.1°C(°F), press “Mode” and to decrease 0.1°C(°F), press “°C/°F”. Press the “MEM” button to save the setting.

How long does it take for the reading to appear?

The reading should appear very quickly, about a second

Is the thermometer in Fahrenheit or Celsius?

It can be switched to measure in either unit.

Is there automatic power-off?

Yes, this thermometer will power off by itself after 30 seconds without use.

What does ITO mean?

The ITO glass top is a tempered glass top with ITO coated layers. ITO stands for Indium tin oxide, which is a solid solution of indium oxide and tin oxide. ITO layers allow excellent electrical conductivity as well as transparence. The working mechanism for the body fat scale is that the scale sends a weak bio-electric current through the body to measure parameters such as body fat. Conductive material must be on top of the scale for this process to work. Most body fat scales, including our CF350BT, use metal panels on the surface of the scale for this purpose. Our CF351BT scale uses more advanced ITO coating on glass top to take the place of normal metal panels. The benefit is obvious: it is a total piece of smooth glass that looks beautiful and makes your feet feel better while standing on it. Moreover, with this ITO top there is a bigger contact area between your feet and the conductive layer than that of normal metal panels. This ensures complete testing for body fat and other measurements. Of course, ITO costs more than normal metal panels, which means a higher price for the CF351BT.

What is the difference between the CF351 and CF350 scales?

The CF351 has a complete ITO glass top that allows for better conductivity since it does not rely on metal panels underneath an ITO glass surface like the CF350 does. Since there is more ITO glass in the CF351 scale, it costs more to produce and thus costs more to purhcase. Both scales are accurate, however the CF351 is a little more accurate.

Will dry feet be an issue for going on the scale?

An extremely small percentage of people have severely dry feet. Such dryness does affect the contact
between bare feet and metal panels. Due to this, the scale may not be able to collect
parameters like body fat. This issue doesn’t happen on CF351BT due to the advanced
ITO technology.

What devices are compatible with the app?

iOS devices : iPhone4S/5/5C/5S, iPad 3, iPad Mini or later
Android devices: Android 2.3 or later with bluetooth2.2 or later such as Samsung Galaxy S4, S5 and Nexus 4/5/7/9

Will this scale power off by itself?

Yes, both bluetooth body fat scale models will power off after 30 seconds without use.

When is re-calibration needed and what is accuracy error?

Anytime you use the scale for the first time or replace the batteries or move the location, a re-calibration should be performed for accurate weight reading.

The re-calibration procedure:

Simply step on the scale for a few seconds, then step down. Then wait until the display screen goes off. Typically a couple of times this procedure are needed.

Once it is done, it should remain calibrated until the batteries are replaced or location is changed.

The accuracy error is the deviation between two scales.  First, make sure both are calibrated before comparing.  Secondly, the max deviation is plus or minus 500 grams or 1.10231131 lbs.

How many users can be applied to the easyhomescale app for one compatible device?

The amount of users we can store on the APP is unlimited.  Due to the LCD of the scale, the 10th user and beyond will register as P0 versus P1, P2, P3, etc.  Our engineer explained that this scale is mainly targeted for at home use, so only one digit after P is designed with the scale, it is difficult to change to double digits.  The software itself is easy to change though.

Can the user be automatically detected?

The present version of the scale cannot detect different users.  We are working a a newer version that will include this feature and store the data of each user, such as weighing for all 8 parameters without the mobile device opened; the data can be uploaded and stored automatically for next use.

TENS Unit (Easy@Home):

What is TENS?

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is the use of electric current produced by a device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. TENS, by definition, covers the complete range of transcutaneously applied currents used for nerve excitation although the term is often used with a more restrictive intent, namely to describe the kind of pulses produced by portable stimulators used to treat pain.

Why Massage Therapy is so popular?

Whether you are trying to increase relaxation, alleviate pain, or strengthen your neurological system, there are little to no drawbacks to massage therapy, especially in a controlled environment with electrotherapy. Frequent pulses, vibrations, and deep circular movements massage deep tissue and elicit physiological benefits. There is very little risk for a high reward.

How does a TENS Machine work?

It works by attaching electrodes to and around the area where you are experiencing pain. Once you turn the device on, the TENS sends an electrical signal through the electrodes and onto that affected area. So instead of feeling that pain or discomfort, you will instead feel a Gentle, Soothing feeling in that area. Some will describe it as a tingling, or even a numbing feeling on the targeted area.

What is the advantages of choosing a TENS?

 - It does not involve the use of drugs.

 - It is a strong pain reliever.

 - They are battery powered which lasts for hours

 - Portable. Use it anywhere, anytime

 - It is commonly used as an alternative to pain medication

What does it feel like?

In normal modes, it can be comparable to the feeling you get when you have "pins and needles". It is described as a mild tingling sensation in the area where the electrodes are placed. For example, A person may have broken or sprained their wrist and is now experiencing throbbing pain. After placing the TENS electrodes around that area, the user may may replace that feeling of throbbing pain to a feeling of a gentle tingling sensation. The intensity can be controlled by the user to suit his/her needs.

Will a TENS Machine work for me?

Although the TENS is effective for most people, it may not work for all. This is because our body structure and ailments are all unique. So the experience may vary between users. But for the vast majority of our users, the TENS Machine is very effective method of controlling their pain relief.  We recommend you speak to your doctor, or physiotherapist to find out more about whether or not a TENS can help you.

Are there any side-effects or complications?

Too much power output can be too intense and can be uncomfortable. The electrodes should not be placed over the heart, eyes, neck, brain, or the throat area. People with heart problems or a pacemaker should not use TENS. Those with implanted defibrillators, infusion pumps, and other such devices should not use a TENS. Having said that there are no known side effects when using a TENS. It is not addictive nor will it alter the patients state of mind unlike some prescription medication and other drugs.
