The extracted throat swab specimen reacts with an antibody to Strep A that is coated onto particles. The mixture migrates up the membrane to react with the antibody to Strep A on the membrane and generates a red line in the test region. I don't normally take time to review products, but I'll make an exception because I really like this product. I am on my second box of these over the past 2 years, as my children are constantly getting strep (and one is now getting his tonsils removed). This product is consistently accurate. I did have a few test strips that didn't work (the liquid didn't progress all the way up the stick), but that didn't bother me because I just used another stick. What matters to me is that the product gives accurate results, and this does! It helped me know when we needed to go to the doctor with a fussy child who is too young to talk and can't tell me what hurts. Thank you for making the life of a busy mom who lives 30 minutes from the doctor's office a bit easier!
